For shepherd's day we have invited Hungarian shepherds who still preserve the traditonal herding customs in song, dance, playing an instrument and other crafts.

pasztornap 2017

Shepherding is a profession that goes back to the times before Hungary’s statehood. Today the last-of-the-last shepherds still practice this ancient profession, still tend the animals and do the innumerable other tasks that go along with shepherding, cowherding and wrangling. Their world of beliefs, handcrafts, music, song and dance preserve the most valuable part of Hungarian culture and memory from before written record.
